Greene County district court, ending July 6

In Greene County district court Ashley Nicole Paulsen, 32, of Perry was sentenced June 26 to five years in prison after she changed her plea to guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated- third offense. All but 30 days of the prison term was suspended, and 30 days of inpatient treatment for alcohol dependence will satisfy the prison term. She was placed on probation for three years to the Iowa Department of Correctional Services. She was fined $3,125 with a $1,093.75 surcharge and a $10 drug abuse resistance education (DARE) surcharge.

Paulsen was sentenced to 10 days in jail on a charge of child endangerment. The jail term is consecutive to the previous term and must be served. She was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge. Two counts of child endangerment were dismissed. Court costs were $180. (Sentencing: Honorable Joseph B. McCarville)

Jared Andrew Krause, 22, of Carroll was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge on a charge of reckless driving, amended from OWI- first offense. Court costs were $100. (Sentencing: McCarville)

Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignment as follows: Antonio Luis Alexander, 39, of Des Moines, driving while license barred; David Hoyle, 34, of Churdan, assault while displaying dangerous weapon; Dalton Weber, 21, of Scranton, domestic abuse assault- second offense, child endangerment, and false imprisonment; and Sharletha Carol Wiggins, 56, of Perry, driving while license barred. Trial dates were set for Sept. 29 in every case.

Cases were initiated in district court as follows: Robert John Mobley, 36, of Jefferson, OWI- first offense; Jon Mitchell Bushman, 43, of Scranton, criminal mischief- second degree; William Russell Griffin, 45, of Rippey, criminal mischief- first degree; Justin Michael Cosnotti, 35, of Jefferson, possession of methamphetamine, possession of heroin, domestic abuse assault- third or subsequent offense, willful injury causing serious injury, harassment- first degree, false imprisonment, and child endangerment; Kayli Jayde Elsberry, 23, of Boone, OWI- first offense; and Brendan Robert James, 20, of Bouton, OWI- first offense.
